Escapees Amateur Radio BOF skpradio@groups.io
Escapees RV Club (SKP) Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) SKPradio is for Escapees members who are licensed, or are interested in becoming, amateur radio operators. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licenses US ham radio operators under FCC Rules §97. We also welcome Escapees members who operate in the US under the §97.107 reciprocal operating arrangements. Our group encourages:
SKPRadio group membership requires membership in the Escapees RV Club. There are no dues to belong to this BOF.
We also welcome all other Escapees who use push-to-talk (PTT) radios while RVing. These include operating under Citizen Band (CB - FCC §95.8), Family Radio Service (FRS - FCC §95.5), General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS - FCC §95.17), Multi-User Radio Service (MURS - FCC §95.27), or other US and Canadian authorized radio services. We hope you will join us and see how your family’s transition into ham radio may improve your RVing experiences.
This group is NOT affiliated with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL).
- becoming licensed in the amateur radio service,
- providing emergency and essential communications when necessary,
- using radios to coordinate and enrich our RV activities, such as at RV rallies, RV parks, and in the backcountry,
- exchanging best practices and lessons learned while operating in an RV, and
- being an active part of the Escapees RVing radio operator community.
